A company's veterinary health organization is seeking a corporate generalist to assist its team on a full-time (40 hours per week), contract basis for an initial 4 month term.

Title: Corporate Counsel (Secondment)

Experience: 7+ Years

Location: Remote (Portland, OR, Los Angeles, CA, or Tampa, FL preferred, but not required)

Hours: 40 Hours / Week

Duration: 3 Months

Pay Rate: $105 - $115 / hr

Job description:

The company's veterinary health subsidiaries operate in 42 states and Canada. This role would serve corporate legal functions for the legal teams that service each of these subsidiaries.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for this role fall into three buckets: commercial, marketing, and general corporate and regulatory work.

Commercial

The organization reviews and enters into contracts on behalf of three North America business units. These attorneys need additional contracting support - specifically with regard to commercial procurement contracts:

• Also ability to provide day-to-day support for the Commercial Team if they have questions
• Experience with IP and data privacy concerns as they pertain to commercial contracts
• Some external facing work could be required, but for the most part, will be counseling internal procurement teams.

Marketing

One of the organization's key offerings include pet wellness plans (not an insurance plan). Two new wellness plans just launched for the first time in a few years and there is a large marketing push.

• Review of marketing content, guidance to marketing team when it comes to campaigns, promotions, etc to ensure follows any relevant legal guidelines.

Corporate and Regulatory

Some experience with general corporate counsel work including:

• Changing the corporate structure of entities
• Corporate filings
• Regulatory advice

Experience

• Candidates in Portland, Los Angeles, or Tampa preferred
• Fully remote is ok for the right candidates
• 7-10 years of experience in varied corporate counsel functions, including work in commercial and marketing.
• Experience with corporate structures and regulatory functions in the areas of human health, vet health, dental health, or optometry would be a significant plus
