This position functions as a Program Support Clerk for the Environmental Management Service (EMS) and is located at the Veterans Affairs St. Louis Health Care System (VASTLHCS) in Jefferson Barracks, MO. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet one of the following qualifications: TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. -AND- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in Federal service that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes using a variety of office equipment and software to provide clerical support such as preparing correspondence, tracking items, assisting callers/visitors; and performing timekeeping duties. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.) -OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: You have successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. One full year of graduate education is considered to be 18 semester hours.
