We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Ward Secretary to join our healthcare team. This position provides both clerical support and direct patient care under the supervision of the House Supervisor and Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and courteous service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff.
• Answer and direct telephone calls and accurately communicate messages.
• Maintain accurate patient records and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Enter physician orders and complete required forms and requisitions.
• Coordinate patient testing, appointments, transfers, and transportation.
• Process patient admissions and discharges.
• Maintain patient lists, charts, and documentation.
• Assist nursing staff with patient care, monitoring, transportation, and activities of daily living.
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and safe patient care environment.
• Respond appropriately to call lights, alarms, and patient needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification required, or eligibility to obtain certification within 60 days.
• Full-time students enrolled in an RN or LPN program may be eligible.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Medical Terminology coursework preferred.
• Computer skills required; MediTech experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to walk frequently, sit for extended periods, lift 20–40 pounds , operate computers and patient equipment, and safely respond to alarms and call lights in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
